Carbide inserts are replaceable and usually index able bits of cemented carbide used in machining MILD steels, cast iron, high temperature alloys. Carbide inserts allow faster machining and leave better finishes on metal parts. Used for carbon and mild steel. Application is Stainless Steel, Plain Carbon and High Alloy Steel. Cast iron is a class of iron–carbon alloys with a carbon content of more than 2% and silicon content around 1–3%.
